In 2011, I had no idea I would soon be learning how to paint, much less creating and designing websites for a living. No, at that time I was working at a dead-end job at an insurance cubicle farm, wondering what I did with my life.
So I made a decision to go back to college and get the degree I stared 7 years prior: a degree in art.
This is where Dr. Adams comes in. One of my first classes was color theory with her at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and even though it is one of the first classes an art major takes, its definitely not the easiest but it was one of the most fun classes I took.
Dr. Adams taught that class with such enthusiasm that you cannot help but be enthralled when you go to class. She also teaches in a way that makes it fun and not boring. Instead of teaching you that mixing this color with this other color produces this other color; she teaches you how your eyes receive color, and the differences in additive (lights) and subtractive (pigments) color. We learned why cool colors calm you, while pink is a very agitative color; so dont paint your baby-girls room in it!
In the end, that first class hooked me into finishing my degree and getting me where I am today.
Thank you Dr Donna Adams!
