This screen, which was stored in a garage for over 40 years, is re-purposed as a contemporary experiment using encaustic, one of the most ancient forms of making art. Working with lighter values and more geometric shapes on the sides and bottom, the visual weight and darker more curvilinear shapes emerge upward toward the top. The vertical division bars of the screen capture and contain the movement. The luminous beauty of the beeswax is reminiscent of stained glass in the rebirth of this screen.
